Getting Started

This "How to" is currently for the Blackbox Storage in the Nashville Campus but will be updated to other areas as needed.

First let's talk labeling. Each Shelf has a Rack #, a Bay Letter, & A Shelf #... These will be used to identify where items are stored as visualized in the photo below:

At the Nashville Storage Area there is ipad mounted on a charging bracket closest to the interior entrance door. The App We will be using is called Sortly and currently has a red icon with an S (other colors were trademarked by Superman)

There are additional boxes and stickers for boxes located in the warehouse. If there are no more box stickers left please submit a ticket for refill

Using the App

First, Please note and all unused and unassigned storage containers and labels are in the folder titles "Unassigned Storage" we will be moving these from the folder to the final storage location once you have affixed the QR code label, scanned and filled out the content of your box for storage.

Adding Items

Step 1: In Sortly look for the "Unassigned Storage" folder for available storage boxes, please find the corresponding preprinted labels and affix to box.
Step 2: Select the box in the Sortly App. Now let's move the box in the Sortly App by clicking on the three dots in the upper righthand corner of the screen. This will reveal a menu where "move" is a selectable option.  Once "move" is selected simply browse to the appropriate Location (CPN-Black Box Sotrage), Rack, Bay and Shelve and then click "next". Feel free to add a reason for the move or leave this blank.

Step 3: Select the box in the Sortly App and look for the red and white + icon to add items to the box. Normally you want to select simply "Add Item" thought if you have an item with a barcode you can pull in pre populated info by using this feature.

Step 4: Enter a memorable and descriptive item name. Add Photos of the item in the box and quantity if more than one exists. Please be as detailed as you would like, this will come in helpful down the road tags are userful to add as well iand can help overall inventory visibility. For example if you have 20 shirts of various sizes you could add as that or split them into the # of items per size you have in each tote. Repeat this step until the box is complete.

Removing Items

When you remove an item from an existing box please follow these steps:

Step 1: Open the Sortly App and use the search function to locate your item...if you recall where it is you can also also use the red QR scan button to confirm items stored in a box without pulling it off the shelf or opening.

Step 2: Once you have your box open in the app there are several options available... If more than one item exists, simply adjust the quantity, you can also move items to a separate box from here or delete all items from teh box by selecting the 3 dots in teh top right hand corner and selecting delete.
